This site is dedicated to the memory of those who served during the Korean War in
Baker Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines (aka the Baker Bandits).
PFC Arthur L. Reid, Jr., who served with the Baker Bandits from December
1950 to September 1951, is the inspiration for the site, its underlying research, and an upcoming publication.
Arthur joined the unit while the 1st Marine Division was resting and refitting at the Bean Patch outside Masan after the Marines' retrograde from the Chosin Reservoir.
His experiences as a Baker Bandit played a formative role in shaping his life. In turn, he shaped the lives of generations to come.
